Chronic fear – removal from the roots (part 2)

Chronic fear – removal from the roots (part 2)

In part 1, we discussed the devastatingly negative physiological effects of chronic fear.  We also defined both types of fear – real and imagined (see previous article if you need a review).

In this article, we will explore the true roots of fear.

As we recall, chronic elevations (caused by fear) lead to elevated cortisol. Elevated cortisol will lead to increased blood sugar, increased insulin production, dysfunctional sleep patterns, weight gain, dysfunctional metabolism, hormonal imbalance, and chronic inflammation.

We mistakenly try to correct each with pills, diet, and exercise. However, none of these truly address the root of the problem.

To understand the root of the problem, allow me to quote one verse from the Bible. 2 Timothy 1:7:

“For God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and of sound mind.”

If God did not give us the spirit of fear, then who did? I believe we all know the answer to that question.

A spirit of fear can barge its away into each one of our lives. We all realize how we feel, act, and respond to the world and our fellow man when the spirit of fear consumes us. However, we underestimate the power of the spirit of fear in regards to the decay of our health.

So how do we overcome chronic fear?

For the answer, I will again quote (in part) one passage from the Bible. 1 John 4:16-18:

“and so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him… There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear…”

So there you have it. God is the source of love, and HE casts out all fear. It is NOT our job. Stop entertaining it, speaking about it, and fueling it! Stop it NOW!!

When we rely on God, who lives in us, it is his responsibility to make fear run the other way. You see, God makes fear run away from us in fear. That’s right – fear is mortally scared for its life in the presence of God’s love. However, without God, fear runs rampant in our lives.

To trust God at his words is to trust Him to get rid of the fear. When we are then filled with His love and peace, they exhibit themselves by lowering blood pressure, respiration, heart rate, and perspiration. Chronic and debilitating health conditions, as mentioned above, then are reduced. In turn, we find ourselves in a state of wellness and peace rather than the state of dis–ease.

If this writing resonates with you, share it boldly with others. Let’s all get people free and healed. Living in fear is death. Living free from chronic fear is abundant life. That is God’s true intent and purpose. By living by the light of God’s love, fear has no hold on you and will literally run for the hills.
